Work Experience
Engineer
SAIV AS
March 2021 — Present
Playing a key role in engineering projects in mechanical design, embedded systems, and software development related to oceanographic instruments and oceanography.
Responsible for designing high-pressure underwater electrical connectors, developing control systems, and creating web-based dashboards for monitoring and controlling profiling systems.
Collaborating with production and development teams to improve product quality and efficiency.
- Developed web-based dashboards for monitoring and controlling the SAIV APB5 (Automatic Profiling Buoy 5) CTD (Conductivity, Temperature, Depth) profiling system, with features including real-time data visualization, data export, remote control interfaces, and more.
- Developed embedded systems for oceanographic instruments and automatic profiling systems used in oceanography.
- Modelled and drew various casting molds for electrical cable connectors, temperature sensors, and oxygen sensors.
- Created server programs for real-time oceanographic data retrieval and an alert system for the SAIV APB5 automatic profiling system.
- Developed desktop applications for internal use, including bridging software that retrieves and parses pressure sensor data from the cloud and converts it into a format compatible with existing calibration equipment.
- Conducted 3D modelling, technical drawing, static stress analysis, and ordering of a pressure vessel designed for liquid pressure testing at up to 1,200 bar (equivalent to 12,000 m water depth).
- Coordinated and led, designed and developed high-pressure electrical underwater connectors for marine applications, including 3D-modelling, technical drawing, static stress analysis, ordering for manufacture, real-world pressure testing, and quality control.
- Led pricing strategy for products.
- Flown and produced drone footage for marketing materials at the company and in the field.
Computer Electronics Apprentice
SAIV AS
August 2019 — March 2021
Worked on the production, maintenance, and repair of oceanographic instruments, integrating skills in electronics, embedded systems, mechanical design, and software development.
Gained experience in various fields, from soldering and assembly to printed circuit board (PCB) design, 3D modelling and technical drawing, and server maintenance.
Developed embedded and application-level software, along with primitive web interfaces.
- Produced and serviced oceanographic instruments, including soldering PCBs and cables, casting, and mechanical assembly.
- Set up and maintained IT infrastructure, including Linux servers — for example, File Transfer Protocol (FTP) servers — and network-attached storage (NAS) systems.
- Created a desktop application for managing an instrument production incubator via serial communication with real-time data visualization.
- Developed the PCB and circuitry for a battery controller used in the SAIV APB5 automatic profiling system and created the embedded software to operate it.
- Designed, 3D-modelled and 3D-printed enclosures and brackets for electronics.

Landscape Photography
Capturing the beauty of landscapes through photography is one of my passions. I enjoy finding unique perspectives around me. An interest that goes hand-in-hand with nature and hiking.
Geography
I'm fascinated by geography in all its forms — not just countries and states, but also mountains, rivers, and other features. I enjoy looking at maps, learning about different regions, and understanding how geography shapes civilizations.
Languages
I find joy in learning languages and exploring their history, origins, and evolution over time. Understanding the connections between them and their cultural contexts provides fascinating insight into history.
Chess
Chess is a game that challenges my strategic thinking and patience. I enjoy both playing and studying the game, learning from masters and improving one step at a time.

Music
Although I no longer play the cello actively, it played a significant role in my childhood. I began learning at the age of five and continued for nine years. Before I stopped, I also tried my hand at guitar and drums for a few years, but the cello remained the instrument I was most passionate about. While I no longer perform, I still enjoy listening to music — from classical and folk to rock and blues.
